I was wondering for those who have had stem cell transplants, where are you getting this done? I have a daughter with Schuerrmanns Kyohosis with 5 black discs, a 74 degree curve in her spine with such schmoral nodes who is in constant pain. They can do a spinal fusion but that will not help with the pain. Our spinal surgeon says that she needs a stem cell transplant to regenerate her discs which he observed in Japan with amazing results. Nothing is worse than watching your child suffer. Any information would be appreciated.

I'm wondering the same thing. It's to bad they have this dumb rule where we can't name [edit] doctors or even find out the name of a place that does rare treatment like stem cell injections. Why is there HealthRcovered censorship that is not helping it's users get rid of back pain.

This is not censorship. There are rules and regulations regarding naming physicians and institutes. This is to protect those individuals. Naming of a doctor or an medical institute does not prevent anyone from seeking aid for back pain. There is a Find a Doctor feature on Spine-Health that allows any member to locate specific doctor disciplines in your area

Who does what?

Makes no sense this website does not share doctor information. How does one seek treatment without the name of the doctor? HealthRcovered, please explain that.

I agree. Censoring names of

I agree. Censoring names of providers if they are threatened or something makes sense, but limiting the ability of members to talk about their providers drastically reduces our ability to help each other. Well Spine-Health does have a provider locator it is limited to the same old practitioners found with a simple google search. This forum has the potential to help so much more.

This policy has been going on for over 10 years

And the thousands and thousands of members have never had any difficulty with this.

What has always been the important aspect was the type of treatment you were receiving, the type of doctor, and other medical aspects ( Physical Therapy, Aqua Therapy, Tens, ESI, etc). The treatment is the important piece.

You also have to keep in mind that medical professionals do not want to see their names broadcasted on open forums. There is way too much that is left to interpretation when it comes to online information. Most medical professionals want to have referrals.

We have had situations where a member was nice enough to tell another member about their doctor (through email and NOT using Spine-Health resources). That person that went to the doctor, screaming and yelling and demanding to be taken care of the way Member A was.
Needless to say that cause a lot of bad feelings. We need to avoid that type of scenario.

The last important piece is getting information from an online source. Remember, everyone here is a non-medical professional and discuss their own situations. They are not in the position to say

    - Go See Doctor "A"
    - At Location "B"
    - They are the bests
I for one would never listen to something like that. Instead, the seasoned members here would recommend going to see
    - Orthopedic doctor
    - At a teaching hospital
    - And discuss the various techniques for xxx surgery

That is the valuable information that people for years have been seeking and receiving.

If you are looking to find the best qualified doctor to do a specific surgery, there are many online sites that you can sign up for and pay for that service.

I am sorry that you feel that Spine-Health has not satisfied your needs.

I understand the policy, and do find the forum very helpful. Just having trouble locating good information on the placental stem cell procedure people have been discussing here. If anyone can post a link to research or news in this regard I'd find it helpful.
