M6-C disc replacement saved my neck!

I received an M6-C implant (along with a fusion and some other things) in Germany last November 21, 2013. It is an incredible implant and I could not be more happy with the results so far! I really hope that North America gets on pace with Europe and approves multi-level use of this product..if not, definitely check out Germany, they are world leaders! Feel free to contact me for more info, hope this is helpful. Keep hoping and keep believing!

If anyone knows the status on approval of a multi-level use for implants in the USA, PLEASE let me know. I have a fusion scheduled next week and two young children. Please tell me who to contact in Germany for more info, thanks.

Neck Pain and Shoulder Pain

Hi I am new to this forum... I had 3 surgery from a slip and fall accident, I had a spinal infusion on c5-c6 over 3 years ago, I had shoulder surgery and double crushed nerve surgery. I am still in a lot of pain in neck should burning, tingling in back fingers elbow etc..had a new mri done and have the written report by radiologist confused by radiologist say a probably a small area of myelopathy in c5 no enhancement after gadolinium was given.
There is straightening of the cervical lordotic which is likely positional.
Minor cervical spondylosis present at c3-c4 and c6-c7
There are postoperative changes in the cervical spine

Neck Pain Treatment

Cervical artificial disc surgery is a type of joint replacement procedure, or arthroplasty, that involves inserting a cervical artificial disc into the intervertebral space after a natural cervical disc has been removed.

Numbness / tingling in hand + arm

Hi Guys

Im new to this site , my symptoms have pretty much come out of the blue . They started with slight tingling in my left index finger about 8 weeks ago to now occasional full arm pins and needles . Im 42 and very active . Ive had the MRI and seen a nuero surgeon. Turns out i have a disc out in my neck thats interferring with nerves to the left hand /arm. He also said i have 2 other discs that have moved in my neck ,however they are not presenting any symptoms , he did mention surgery if the numbness doent go away.
This has all come out of the blue for me and im trying to work out if I had a blow or a fall or if its years of construction finally catching up on me . I train regularly and i also do a martial art called Krav Maga which is full on contact , will i have to re evaluate everything ?

Two level replacement, Cervical Spine

There is a double level device recently approved by the FDA. Depending on who I speak with, I am told I am not a candidate for this procedure due to an existing fusion? My Surgeon didn't seem to have a favorable opinion of the artificial discs at this time. Personally, I'd prefer to maintain as much mobility as possible, especially when considering the condition of the adjacent discs.

As for interesting symptoms, yes, I did find out that facial pain and numbness can be caused by Cervical cord compression as well as breathing issues and even a mild sore throat. This digression has been tough. I sure hope I see relief and recover some of my feeling after the next surgery.

I have reviewed several fellow poster's and their comments. I hope they all have success with their surgeries and recovery. I am preparing for mine both physically and emotionally right now. Lots of protien and vitamin supplements.

Heres to better days.

Maybe...

I'll be a good fit. Thanks for the information. I have sent them an email with a copy of my MRI report to see if I am a good candidate for the study.

dua l disc replacement surgery

On 12/22/2014 I had dual disc replacement surgery at c5/c6 and c6/c7 utilizing the Mobi-C. I am just over one month post operative with awesome results. The only complaint is my throat. It feels like I have a lump in it when I swallow. Also the incision is prickly and still stings. However, I have full mobility up, down, right and left. What a miracle! Less than four months prior (08/29/14) I had my right ankle replaced. Of course that recovery is way more extreme.. I was super concerned about this surgery but after two rotator cuff repairs (both right and left tears), both hips replaced, and the ankle replacement, the dual disc replacement was a breeze. I highly recommend this instead of fusion.
